This is a 1: 1 scale reproduction in plaster of the Couros (or Kouros) of Actium, a marble sculpture of Naxian or Corinthian origin, circa 570 BC, and part of the permanent collection of the Musée du Louvre. The technique used for the sculpture presented here is called "printed": plaster is applied with a brush directly into the mold, then a second and third layer is made with a natural fiber (hemp, oakum). The base and the column are in wood coated with stucco.
