This fantastic lacquered sculpted wood 'Oceanic' dresser is by Pulaski Furniture Corporation, circa 1969 which perfectly encapsulates the California surf mentality of the 1960s and 1970s, making this piece a highly sought after design by Tiki collectors and Mid-Century Modern design aficionados. Featuring nine drawers, there are three wider drawers in the center, each flanked by two smaller drawers on either side, which due to the artful wood carvings the lines to the drawers seemingly disappear giving an artistic sculptural appearance when not in use. This lovely rare Oceanic contour dresser by Pulaski Furniture Co is often attributed to Witco due to similar styling of the carved wood pieces from Witco. It was also featured in Donald Draper's office for multiple seasons on the hit TV show 'Mad Men'. This wild oceanic dresser by Pulaski Furniture Co. would work great in a Surf / Beach styled bungalow or Tiki styled home, but also would fit perfectly in a Mid-Century Modern, Scandinavian Modern or Danish modern home or penthouse apartment and could also look fantastic in a contemporary or Postmodern room. Also consider mixing it up in a traditional, transitional, classical or Art Deco room with a splash of juxtaposition. Would also be an apt choice in a commercial project such as a hotel lobby lounge or members club, creative design studio or high-rise executive office. Also consider using as a sideboard in a dining room or a storage cabinet in an entryway or hallway or a credenza in a living room, den or office.
