Built on the basis of four ingenious elements which have been painstakingly constructed with eminent craftsmanship into striking terrace-like forms, ‘Terrazza’ landscape element, by Ubald Klug for De Sede, Switzerland, 1970s provides a unique seating experience. Like terraced hills, the elements left and right are vary in width and depth in tapering steps. The four sofa elements has various arrangements for sitting purposes yet it is limited only by the owner’s imagination. The four elements of Terrazza sofa is like something from outer space landed in interior space. Ubald Klug was born in St. Gallen, Switzerland and is a renowned Swiss interior designer and architect. Klug graduated in interior design from the Zurich University of the Arts and then worked in Zurich and Helsinki respectively. In 1966 he opened his own office in Paris, where he worked in architectural design, interior design and graphic design.

As well as designing furniture, watches, ceramics, textiles and glassware and products for the aircraft industry, he also undertakes projects for exhibitions, showrooms, shops and restaurants and has won numerous international design awards, including an iF Top Ten Award for the "Shell" cabinet alone, the International Design Award of the Canton of Baden-Württemberg and the Swiss Design Award.
